Matilda the Musical

Nelson Musical Theatre is thrilled to present Matilda the Musical, the dazzling stage adaptation of Roald Dahl’s beloved tale, brought to life with electrifying music by Tim Minchin and a heartwarming script by Dennis Kelly.

This internationally acclaimed musical tells the story of Matilda Wormwood, a precocious young girl with a love of books, a razor-sharp mind, and a quiet resilience. Despite being misunderstood by her neglectful parents and terrorised by the formidable Miss Trunchbull, Matilda discovers her own extraordinary powers and dares to take a stand. With the help of her kind-hearted teacher Miss Honey and a group of spirited classmates, Matilda proves that even the smallest among us can change the world.

Featuring a vibrant cast of 36 talented children and adult performers, this production bursts with energy, humour, and emotion. Audiences will be swept away by unforgettable musical numbers like “Naughty”“When I Grow Up”, and “Revolting Children”, each packed with clever lyrics and infectious melodies.

Expect stunning choreography, imaginative staging, and a story that celebrates the power of courage, kindness, and creativity. Whether you’re a lifelong fan of Roald Dahl or discovering Matilda for the first time, this show promises an unforgettable theatrical experience for all ages.
